“Diaz Music Institute aspires to become Houston’s premiere
non-profit fine arts institution committed to the education, preservation,
performance and perpetuation of Latin music. It will do so by developing and
showcasing locally and nationally an acclaimed repertory ensemble, “Caliente,”
and by creating and implementing a variety of Latin music education
opportunities.”
In
a short period of time, Diaz Music Institute has become a leader in the Latin
music community locally and nationally. The innovative programming develop by
Artistic Director Jose Antonio Diaz has garnered the interest and rave reviews
across the country.
Diaz
Music Institute was selected by the National Arts and Humanities Program Award as a semi-finalist. Only 50 organizations were selected
nationwide and Diaz Music Institute was the only group selected from the State
of Texas.
