CALIENTE, the flagship performing ensemble of Diaz Music Institute (DMI), is currently holding auditions for all positions in the group.

Caliente, a DownBeat Award Winner and recipient of the Houston Press Best Latin Band Award, is the nationally recognized youth repertoire ensemble of Diaz Music Institute. Led by Grammy-Nominated Music Educator Top 10 Finalist Jose Antonio Diaz, Caliente is the only youth ensemble to receive the prestigious Houston Press Award.

Starr, Poncho Sanchez, Michael Stuart, Danilo Perez, Nestor Torres, Jon Faddis, Brian Lynch, David Sanchez, Miguel Zenón, Ndugu Chancler, John Santos, Rebeca Mauleón, Conrad Herwig, Frankie Negrón, and Marlon Fernandez.
