Roots. Rhythm. Reimagined. is a dynamic concert celebrating jazz, Latin jazz, and the power of community through music. As the culminating event of the Diaz Music Institute Summer Latin Jazz & Jazz Workshops, the performance features talented student musicians alongside internationally acclaimed guest artist and mentor Jeff Coffin, Grammy-winning saxophonist of the Dave Matthews Band.

Voices in Conversation
Join Diaz Music Institute for Voices in Conversation, an inspiring evening celebrating the artistry, creativity, and future of jazz. This special culminating concert showcases student ensembles from the Rhythm Section and Improvisation Workshops as they perform alongside their world-class mentors—Grammy-nominated drummer Carl Allen, bassist Oskar Cartaya, and trumpeter Terell Stafford.
More than a concert, Voices in Conversation offers a behind-the-scenes look at the mentorship, collaboration, and artistic growth that define the jazz tradition.

Escape to Havana for one unforgettable evening as the Houston Latin Jazz Orchestra transforms Red Cat Jazz Café into a celebration of Cuban-inspired rhythms, vibrant Latin jazz, and dance-floor energy.
With seating limited to just over 100 guests, Havana Nights offers an intimate club experience where every seat is close to the music and every moment feels electric.
Experience the power of a 22-piece Latin jazz orchestra performing an exciting mix of salsa, mambo, cha-cha-cha, Afro-Cuban classics, and Latin jazz favorites inspired by the rich musical traditions of Havana.

From Spanish Harlem to Houston
Join Diaz Music Institute for From Spanish Harlem to Houston: Latin Jazz Legends & Rising Stars, an extraordinary evening celebrating the power, passion, and legacy of Latin jazz. This special concert features Grammy-winning pianist and bandleader Oscar Hernández, leader of the world-renowned Spanish Harlem Orchestra, and Grammy-winning trombonist Francisco Torres performing alongside Caliente, Diaz Music Institute’s award-winning youth Latin jazz ensemble.
Throughout the evening, audiences will experience electrifying performances that blend Afro-Cuban rhythms, salsa, jazz improvisation, and contemporary Latin jazz.

“Noche Caliente” (Hot Night) is an exciting evening of world-class music and entertainment celebrating the richness of Latin music and cultural traditions. Held at Houston’s iconic Miller Outdoor Theatre, the program features internationally recognized guest artists performing alongside Caliente, Diaz Music Institute’s award-winning youth ensemble.
The event includes music and dance performances from both professional and emerging artists, creating a vibrant community celebration that connects audiences across generations through the power of live music.

Join Joey Music for Joey’s Pop-Up Party Show, an energetic and interactive concert celebrating music, creativity, and fun for the whole family.
